FF: James Arthur and Sigala, Clean Bandit and Mabel and Waterparks

Hellooo! Three posts in a week, who am I?! This one is a Favourites Friday, with a few of my favourite songs from this week! We've got a mix of newer tracks from James Arthur and Sigala, along with Clean Bandit and Mabel and also a song from Waterparks that I'm late to the party on!

First up is James Arthur's collaboration with Sigala! I love both of these artists and was intrigued to see how their styles would combine and I was not disappointed! James Arthur's voice sounds as incredible as ever on Lasting Lover and his emotive vocals work perfectly with Sigala's instrumental. I love the pre-chorus and how it builds into the powerful chorus! I also love the synths in the chorus and the bass in the pre-chorus.

Tick Tock is a track that is not afraid to get firmly stuck in your head! This one sees Clean Bandit team up with Mabel, featuring 24kGoldn and as always, I love Mabel's vocals and she and Clean Bandit make a great partnership! I love the instrumental throughout the song and particularly in the instrumental section before the final chorus! In the music video, I love the mix of green screen work and physical sets, which blend seamlessly into each other.

Onto a song from last year which I just discovered! I recently came across Waterparks’ Easy to Hate and I love it! I love the sound of the band and Awsten Knight’s voice! I love the lyrics to the song and the various guitar tones and melodies throughout Easy to Hate. Now for the music video for Easy to Hate and where do I start! I love the plot of the video and the lighting and effects on the kind of sleep-demon section. The transitions between the different settings in the video give a smooth finish to the video as a whole.

This week’s Favourite Friday has quite the variety of tracks! All three of these have been stuck in my head throughout this week, particularly Tick Tock!
