Hellooo! After realising that I liked a lot of Sigala's singles, I thought I'd buy his album, Brighter Days, to hear more from him! First of all, I love the artwork for the album and how it matches the title of the album and also its contents! It's a very uplifting, summery album and the cover for the album definitely reflects that!.
Brighter Days contains a grand total of ten songs that have been released as singles! Ten singles sounds as though it would take up most of the album however, the album has a total of sixteen songs, meaning there's still plenty of room for new, unreleased music! My favourite of the singles was probably We Don't Care with The Vamps who I LOVE! It took a while for the drop to grow on me but I'm not sure why because now I love it! I also LOVED Came Here for Love with Ella Eyre and Lullaby with Paloma Faith who are both artists which I have loved listening to for a long time! I love both of their voices and Sigala definitely made some great collaboration choices for this album! Both of these songs are catchy and uplifting and they're just great! Two other singles I also really liked were Just Got Paid with Ella Eyre and Meghan Trainor featuring French Montana and Give Me Your Love featuring John Newman and Nile Rogers.
Other singles that took the chart by storm were Sweet Lovin' featuring Bryn Christopher, Say You Do featuring Imani and DJ Fresh along with Sigala's debut single, Easy Love which samples the Jackson 5 song 'ABC'. The final two singles released from the album were Feels Like Home with Sean Paul and Fuse ODG featuring Kent Jones and Ain't Giving Up with Craig David.
Onto the unreleased tracks on the album! I LOVE Somebody with HRVY and Nina Nesbitt! They're both great vocalists individually and I was interested to hear how they would blend together and they work really well! I also really like Revival featuring Cheat Codes and MAX and you can definitely hear the Cheat Codes influence on the production of the track compared to the rest of the album. Before listening to this album, I hadn't heard of Delaney Jane but I really like her voice on You Don't Know Me (along with Flo Rida and Shaun Frank) and I'll definitely be checking out more from her! Kylie Minogue features on What You Waiting For which is a collaboration I was not expecting to see on this album but I very much enjoyed hearing! All For Love featuring Kodaline is another solid collaboration along with Brighter Days featuring Paul Janeway. The titular track on the album is a strong opener and definitely sets the tone for the full album!
All in all, Brighter Days has an uplifting, summery feel to the album but isn't too over-the-top. It wouldn't sound out of place at an event such as a summer barbecue as there are plenty of recognisable songs mixed in with new songs from Sigala. There's also plenty of familiar faces on the album so even if you don't really know Sigala himself, there's definitely collaborations you would recognise and songs you might not realise were Sigala tracks! With the collaborations, the artists all fit the songs well and don't feel forced in which I like.
Although Brighter Days is primarily a dance album, there are plenty of styles and instrumentation selections throughout the album, adding variety to each track. Even with the varying styles, the album still sounds cohesive and you can tell it has been produced by Sigala.
